Feedbeet

Feedbeet is the term used for beet which are cultivated, harvested and processed for barn feeding of animals. The feedbeet is a cultivar based on the sugarbeet breeding.

Compared to the older fodderbeet types, feedbeet has generally a higher dry matter yield per hectare which makes these types highly competitive in terms of total achieved dry matter yield. A feedbeet usually grows rather deep in the ground compared to fodderbeet.
