KWS Gimlet is a high-yielding two-row feed that will appeal strongly to those in the east where it has delivered its best performances and, at 106% of controls, is one of the highestyielding two-row varieties available. It has good resistance to both Rhynchosporium and net blotch with scores of 6 for both. It is resistant to Barley Yellow Mosaic Virus (BYMV).
At about 92cm, (with PGR) KWS Gimlet is taller than its parents, while being earlier to mature than KWS Glacier and is higher yielding than KWS Orwell. Straw strength is good though experience suggests the use of a structured programme PGR is advised.
