KWS was born with sugarbeet breeding, and today we are the world market leader in the commercialisation of sugarbeet seed.
Due to the intensive research and breeding activities undertaken over the past years, the yield has been continuously increasing and the disease and pest tolerance have significantly improved.
The aim of our breeding work is to offer solutions targeted to farmer’s needs. To ensure we can meet these needs, we’ve grown trials for our candidate sugarbeet varieties in New Zealand since 2019. This is to ensure that we choose the right variety with the right attributes for NZ conditions before we launch it into the Kiwi market.
