INITIO EarlyPower builds on the success of our EPD 2.0 technology. We have combined two new biological products to partner with EPD 2.0, to improve the early development of plants.

KWS Seed Technology

KWS have partnered with 3 external companies to allow these new technologies to be tailored to the requirements of specifically sugar beet plant growth. These innovative additions aid the plants development for longer into the season than the benefits offered solely of EPD 2.0.

Comparative performance of KWS EPD 2.0 and INITIO EarlyPower

Multiple trials have shown INITIO EarlyPower to emerge faster than EPD 2.0. The average period from sowing to 100% emergence was 29 days. To help with getting the best possible yielding crop, sugar beet growth wants to be as quick as possible. As solar radiation increases in the spring and summer months you need a quickly emerging and vigorous plant to intercept as much solar radiation as possible.

NITIO EarlyPower has show an outstanding 2.4% yield increase over EPD 2.0 - This equates to nearly 2t/ha more for a grower currently with 75t/ha*

What is the Beet Seed Service?

Should you need to re-sow your beet crop we will offer the replacement seed at 50% of the initial sale price of the seed.
You must register for the Beet Seed service by signing up to myKWS. Register your fields within the Beet Seed Service tool.
If the crop fails to establish to a satisfactory level with 8 weeks of driling, submit a damage report via the Beet Seed Service website or app.
The Beet Seed Service is only available to KWS varieties which have the INITIO EarlyPower pellet

Are the CONVISO® SMART varieties treated with INITIO EarlyPower?

Yes, the CONVISO® SMART varieties are already treated with INITIO EarlyPower
SMART KWS seed has a purple inner pelleting mass whereas classic KWS sugar beet seed is grey on the inside. Both pellets are orange on the outside.

What is the difference between EPD 2.0 and INITIO EarlyPower?
