KWS Aintree Grand National Prize Draw — Terms and Conditions

The KWS Aintree Grand National Prize Draw (the “Prize Draw”) is promoted by KWS UK Limited, company number 1578784, of 56 Church Street, Thriplow, Royston, SG8 7RE (the “Promoter”).

Correspondence concerning the Prize Draw should be sent to the above address or ukmarketing@kws.com.

“Entry Content” means any photographs, videos, audio, captions, crop updates, survey answers, comments, quotations and other material submitted by an entrant in connection with the Prize Draw.

1. Subject of the conditions of participation

1.1 These Terms and Conditions govern participation in the Prize Draw, the use of submitted photographs, videos and accompanying descriptions, and the selection of the winner and awarding of the prize.

1.2 The Prize Draw invites growers to document the progress of their KWS Aintree winter wheat crop during the 2026/27 growing season, up to the closing date.

1.3 The Prize Draw opens at 9am on Friday 18th September 2026 and closes at 5pm GMT on Thursday 25 March 2027. All required submissions must be received by the closing time.

1.4 By submitting an entry, participants agree to these Terms and Conditions.

2. Eligibility

2.1 Participants must be aged 18 or over and resident in the United Kingdom.

2.2 Participants must be growing, managing or directly involved in growing a KWS Aintree crop within the eligible territory during the 2026/27 season.

2.3 Participants entering in connection with their employment or on behalf of a farming business must have the necessary permission from their employer or the business.

2.4 Employees of the Promoter, anyone directly involved in administering the Prize Draw, and members of their immediate families or households are not eligible.

2.5 The winner and their guest must both be aged 18 or over and able to attend the event on Saturday 10 April 2027.

2.6 Participants must be able to provide proof of purchase of the certified KWS Aintree seed used to establish the crop featured in their submissions. The proof may be in the name of the participant or the farming business responsible for the crop. It is not required at entry and will only be requested if the participant is selected as the provisional winner.

2.7 Only crops grown from purchased certified KWS Aintree seed are eligible for this Prize Draw. Crops grown from farm-saved seed are not eligible.

3. Participation

3.1 To enter, participants must complete the entry form at [insert entry link] and submit at least two crop updates on separate dates during the 2026/27 growing season, this can be anywhere from the point of drilling up to the competition closing date.

The updates must include at least one photograph overall. Videos are welcome but are not compulsory. Each update must include the date the photograph or video was taken, where applicable, and a short description of the crop’s progress or the participant’s experience of growing KWS Aintree.

Both updates must be received by 5pm GMT on Thursday 25 March 2027. Participants should use the same name and email address for each submission so their updates can be linked.

3.2 All submissions must show the participant’s genuine KWS Aintree crop. Updates should identify the field using a consistent name or reference. Fabricated material, material showing another variety, or misleading descriptions are not eligible.

3.3 Each participant may receive one entry into the random draw, once they have met all entry requirements. Further photographs, videos or updates will form part of that participant’s existing entry and will not increase their chances of winning. Multiple registrations using different contact details are not permitted.

3.4 There is no entry fee and no new or additional purchase is required for the purpose of entering the Prize Draw. Participants do not need to have purchased the seed personally, provided they meet the eligibility requirements and can obtain the evidence required under Clause 3.5. The quantity of seed purchased does not affect their chances of winning.

3.5 Only the provisional winner will be required to submit proof of purchase of the certified KWS Aintree seed used to establish the crop featured in their submissions. This evidence is required to help verify the variety and the crop’s eligibility.

The evidence must identify KWS Aintree, the supplier, purchase date and purchasing individual or farming business. Where the purchaser is a farming business, the provisional winner must demonstrate their connection to that business and the crop.

The Promoter may request supporting drilling or field records to link the purchased seed to the crop shown. Proof of purchase alone does not establish which crop has been photographed.

The required evidence must be provided within seven calendar days of the Promoter’s request. No purchase made after selection can substitute for evidence relating to the seed used to establish the submitted crop.

Where the purchaser is a farming business, the provisional winner must demonstrate their connection to that business and the crop featured in their submissions. Prices, bank details and unrelated purchases may be redacted.

Proof must be provided within seven calendar days of the Promoter’s request. The prize will only be confirmed once the evidence has been checked and the provisional winner’s eligibility verified.

3.6 The Promoter may also request reasonable evidence of identity, age or eligibility. Any requested evidence must be supplied within seven calendar days of the request.

3.7 Entries must be submitted through the designated entry form. Social media posts, tags or direct messages do not constitute entry unless expressly stated on the Prize Draw webpage.

3.8 Late, incomplete, unreadable or corrupted submissions, or submissions that do not meet the published requirements, will not qualify. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt. Participants should retain copies of their submissions.

3.9 The Promoter may exclude an entry where it has reasonable grounds to believe that the participant has supplied false information, infringed another person’s rights, attempted to manipulate the draw or otherwise materially breached these Terms and Conditions.

4. Ownership

4.1 Copyright in submitted photographs, videos and accompanying descriptions remains with the relevant copyright owner.

4.2 Participants must own the submitted material or have the copyright owner’s permission to submit it and grant the licence described in Clause 5.

4.3 Submission does not transfer ownership of the material to the Promoter.

5. Licence grant

5.1 By entering, participants grant the Promoter a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual licence to use, reproduce, publish, display, adapt and distribute their submitted photographs, videos and accompanying descriptions for KWS marketing, promotional and communications purposes.

KWS may edit written comments for length and clarity, provided that their meaning is not materially changed. This licence does not transfer ownership of the Entry Content to KWS.

Use of testimonials

KWS may use comments and information submitted by an entrant to prepare a testimonial relating to their experience of growing KWS Aintree. KWS will obtain the entrant’s permission before publishing a testimonial that identifies them by their name or farm name. Where comments are edited or combined into a testimonial, KWS will give the entrant an opportunity to approve the final wording before publication.

5.2 This licence applies to submissions from all participants, whether or not they win, and includes use in:

  • Printed materials, including calendars, brochures and posters.
  • Websites, social media, paid advertising and email campaigns.
  • Press and public relations materials.
  • Exhibitions, presentations and videos.

5.3 The Promoter may allow its appointed agencies and production suppliers to use the material on its behalf for these purposes.

5.4 Permitted adaptations include cropping, resizing, adding branding or subtitles, and editing video length. The Promoter will not materially misrepresent the participant’s comments or experience.

5.5 No additional payment is due for use of the material under this licence. The Promoter is not obliged to publish any submission.

5.6 This licence does not authorise publication of invoices, proof of variety, private contact details or other verification documents.

5.7 The copyright licence does not override applicable data protection rights. Where material contains personal data, its use remains subject to Clause 12 and the applicable privacy notice.

6. Credit

6.1 The Promoter will credit the photographer or videographer using the name supplied at entry wherever reasonably practicable.

6.2 Participants should identify the correct person to credit if someone else created the material.

6.3 Requests concerning attribution or anonymity should be sent to ukmarketing@kws.com.

7. Winner selection and announcement

7.1 One provisional winner will be selected on the morning of Friday 26 March 2027 from all valid entries received by the closing time.

7.2 Selection will use a computer process producing verifiably random results. Each valid entry will have an equal chance of winning. Selection will not depend on photographic quality, crop performance, positive comments, social media engagement or public voting.

7.3 The Promoter intends to announce the winner on Friday 26 March 2027, subject to verification, acceptance and the publicity preferences described below. If these steps are not complete, the announcement will follow as soon as reasonably practicable.

7.4 To demonstrate that the prize has been validly awarded, the Promoter will publish or make available the winner’s surname and county. Participants may object to disclosure, or request that less information is disclosed, by contacting ukmarketing@kws.com. The Promoter may nevertheless provide the relevant information to the Advertising Standards Authority if required.

7.5 Any request for additional winner publicity, such as an interview or photographs at the event, will be agreed separately. Participation in that additional publicity is not a condition of receiving the prize.

8. Third-party rights

8.1 Participants confirm that:

  • their Entry Content does not infringe any third-party copyright, privacy, publicity or other rights;
  • they have obtained permission from any identifiable person appearing in their Entry Content;
  • they have permission to submit content created by another photographer or videographer;
  • any music, audio, logos or other third-party material included in a video may lawfully be used by KWS for the purposes described in Section 5; and
  • they have authority to provide any third party’s name or other personal information contained in their submission.

8.2 Videos must not contain music or other third-party material unless the participant has permission covering the uses described in Clause 5.

8.3 The Promoter may request evidence of these permissions before publishing material or confirming eligibility.

9. Prize

9.1 There is one prize: a Grand National hospitality experience for the winner and one guest at Aintree Racecourse on Saturday 10 April 2027.

9.2 The prize comprises:

Two Sunloch hospitality places, including Premier Course Admission to the Lord Sefton Grandstand, access to the restaurant’s course-viewing balcony, the advertised lunch and afternoon tea, the advertised inclusive bar, complimentary car parking and racecards.

9.3 The winner and guest will be seated together at a shared table. A private table for two is not included.

9.4 Travel, accommodation, travel insurance, betting expenditure, premium drinks outside the inclusive package and other personal expenses are not included.

9.5 The Promoter will pay the cost of the included hospitality places and associated mandatory booking fees. There is no fee to claim the prize.

9.6 The prize is for the specified event and date. It cannot be resold or transferred to another winner without the Promoter’s agreement. There is no cash alternative at the winner’s request.

9.7 Attendance is subject to the venue’s applicable ticket and admission conditions, which will be supplied or linked to when the prize arrangements are confirmed. The winner should notify the Promoter promptly of accessibility or dietary requirements.

9.8 If circumstances outside the Promoter’s reasonable control prevent the advertised prize from being provided, including event cancellation, the Promoter will arrange a reasonable equivalent of equal or greater value, discussing suitable arrangements with the winner.

10. Notification and delivery of the prize

10.1 The provisional winner will initially be contacted by email on the morning of Friday 26 March 2027 using the details provided at entry.

10.2 The provisional winner must respond to the notification email and confirm acceptance of the prize within 72 hours of the first notification email. They must also provide proof of purchase of the certified KWS Aintree seed used to establish the crop featured in their submissions within seven calendar days of the Promoter’s request.

Acceptance alone does not confirm entitlement to the prize. The prize will only be confirmed once the Promoter has checked the proof of purchase and verified that the provisional winner meets all eligibility requirements.

10.3 The Promoter will make reasonable further attempts to contact the provisional winner, including by telephone where a number has been provided.

10.4 If the provisional winner declines the prize, cannot attend, fails to respond within the stated acceptance period despite reasonable contact attempts, or cannot provide the required proof of purchase or other eligibility evidence within the applicable deadline, they will not be eligible to receive the prize. The Promoter may then select a replacement winner at random from the remaining valid entries.

10.5 Any replacement winner will be subject to the same eligibility and acceptance requirements.

10.6 The winner must provide the information reasonably required to arrange the hospitality booking for themselves and their guest. Booking arrangements will be confirmed promptly following acceptance and verification, and tickets will be supplied before the event.

11. Liability

11.1 The Promoter will exercise reasonable care in administering the Prize Draw and arranging the prize.

11.2 The Promoter is not responsible for entry failures caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control, including failures of a participant’s device or internet connection. This does not exclude responsibility for the Promoter’s own acts or omissions where liability applies.

11.3 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

11.4 Participants’ statutory rights are unaffected. Delivery of the prize does not remove any continuing legal obligations of the Promoter.

12. Data protection

12.1 KWS UK Limited will process entrants’ personal information to administer the Prize Draw, link crop updates, verify eligibility, contact the provisional winner, arrange fulfilment of the prize and manage the use of Entry Content in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

12.2 Personal information may be shared with service providers and relevant KWS group companies where reasonably necessary for the administration of the Prize Draw, fulfilment of the prize or permitted use of the Entry Content.

12.3 Further information about the personal information collected, the applicable lawful bases, retention periods, recipients, international transfers and entrants’ data-protection rights is provided in the Competition Privacy Notice:

12.4 Personal information collected through the Prize Draw will not be used for unrelated direct marketing unless the entrant has separately chosen to receive such communications.

12.5 Entrants may exercise their data-protection rights by contacting KWS UK Limited on 01763 207300 or at info@kws-uk.com.

13. Changes, suspension or early termination

13.1 The Promoter may amend, suspend or terminate the Prize Draw only where exceptional circumstances outside its reasonable control make this necessary, or where required by law.

13.2 Any action will be proportionate, communicated promptly and taken with due regard to the interests of participants. Wherever reasonably possible, valid entries will be preserved and the advertised prize or a reasonable equivalent awarded.

13.3 The closing date will not be changed unless unavoidable circumstances outside the Promoter’s control require it and either retaining the original date would be unfair or participants who entered under the original terms will not be disadvantaged.

13.4 A low number of entries is not, by itself, a reason to cancel the Prize Draw, extend the closing date or withhold the prize.

14. Miscellaneous

14.1 The Promoter is responsible for administering the Prize Draw. It is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by Facebook, Instagram or X.

14.2 Questions or complaints should be sent to ukmarketing@kws.com. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions prevents participants from exercising their legal rights or raising a complaint with an appropriate regulator.

14.3 These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction. This does not remove any mandatory protections or rights to bring proceedings in another court that may apply to a participant.

14.4 If a provision is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

14.5 These Terms and Conditions will remain accessible on the Prize Draw webpage throughout the entry period.
