About
KWS Mikados is one of a new generation of hybrids from KWS which include bolt on traits that the innovative farmers expect. KWS Mikados is a very high gross output variety with an oil content of 45.8%. It is the 2nd highest yielding for the whole of the UK on 2 year NL List (109) and ranked as the highest yielding for the East/West (111). It has medium maturity, later to flower, has the pod shatter gene and good resistance to lodging (8.6). KWS Mikados has above average early vigour and good vigour in the spring. With regards to disease resistance KWS Mikados has a strong package with excellent phoma stem canker resistance (8) and good resistance to light leaf spot (6), as well as resistance to TuYV. Trials have shown that KWS Mikados has outstanding tolerance to Verticilium Stem Stripe.
