We are KWS and this is what we do
We are a seed specialist focusing on plant breeding, production and sales of seeds for corn, sugarbeet, cereals, rapeseed, sunflowers, vegetables and other agricultural crops. KWS uses cutting-edge plant breeding methods. Today more than 5,000 employees represent KWS in more than 70 countries. KWS was founded 1856 in Klein Wanzleben. Our Headquarters today are located in Einbeck a city in Lower Saxony (Link Company factsheet) and we are publicly listed in S-Dax, one of the major German stock indeces.
We are one of the leading growers and seed producers in the world and contribute with our products to the solution of feeding the world population. According to the UN by the end of 2050, we expect more than 9 bilion people on our planet. At the same time the arable land stagnates which leads to a great challenge for farmers around the world. With our mission to develop more resource-saving varieties which are at the same time more stress tolerant, we are part of the future of food and contribute by crops with increasing yield per hektar.
What differenciates us from our main competitors - we are family-oriented, independent and we focus on seeds only.
KWS in Berlin
In 2018 we opened our office in Berlin as part of our Global Business Excellence initiative and since then we are offering jobs in different administrative functions..
Today we are already an interantional team of more than 480 from all around the world.
In our Berlin office we bundle all administrative functions and services at KWS. Our team in provides administrative services and the strategic administrative framework for KWS and its entities around the world.
All the administrative functions / departments are split between our HQs in Einbeck and our office in Berlin. In Berlin we are home to the functions of Global HR, Global Finance&Procurement and parts of Global Controlling, IT, and Legal. In addition, our Global Transaction Center (Shared Service Center) is located in our Berlin office.

From Berlin we serve the whole KWS world and there couldn't be any better place than Berlin for this kind of purpose. KWS Berlin is like Berlin itself; a cultural melting pot with colleagues coming from all over the world. In fact, more than 70% of all our Berlin colleagues are non-German.
Because of that our business language here in Berlin is English and so, for many of our jobs there's no German required. Often times we need native colleagues for our different department from various countries to support those countries.

If the weather allows it, you can have lunch or an after work drink on our two roof top terraces with a 360° view over the city. You see the Teufelsberg with the former US listening station in the west, Alexander Platz with TV tower, Berlin Cathedral and Sony Center in Mitte. In the south the Gasometer is visible. From here you will realize how flat Berlin is.
