"Find art in your daily work!" was the call. The search was on for images from everyday working life: microscope shots, photos, graphic representations that appear curious, interesting and mysterious and thus take on a new meaning through a creative artistic side effect. Organizing an exhibition from the combination of art and science prompted many KWS colleagues to participate, so that more than 200 images were submitted.
Together with photographs by artist Volker Crone, an exhibition has been created that will enrich the working environment in the corridors of the “BioTechnikum 2” research building on the KWS premises, which will be completed in 2020.
Starting Saturday, Sept. 4, the "Art meets Science" exhibition will be on display in all three rooms of NEWCOMER. On display is a selection of 90 images, creatively combined on the walls of the NEWCOMER Art Lounge and the NEWCOMER Art Workshop. All images that were submitted can be found digitally in a slideshow as well as in the accompanying catalog. Furthermore, a film documents the intention of the project.
Until November, interested visitors are cordially invited to visit the exhibition in the NEWCOMER KWS Art Lounge and the NEWCOMER KWS Art Workshop, located at Tiedexer Straße 20, during the usual opening hours (Wednesday: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday: 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.).
