Protection of your data when you register for the KWS TalentCampus

If you register for the TalentCampus event of KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA, Grimsehlstraße 31, 37574 Einbeck (hereinafter also referred to as "KWS"), we process your personal data for this purpose - regardless of whether you enter your registration data on our website or register in writing. Below we inform you about how we process your personal data.

1. What personal data do we process?

When you or your child register for the KWS TalentCampus, we process your name, your e-mail address and your language preference for program items.

Image and video material

In connection with your participation in our event, we also process image and video material of you or your child. This may include special categories of personal data in accordance with Art. 9 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (e.g. information about your state of health, such as wearing a hearing aid, or your religion, such as wearing a headscarf).

2. For what purpose do we process this data?

Personal data for registration

The purpose of processing your personal data is to plan and control the event, in particular its scope and size, and to ensure that it runs smoothly.

Image and video material

We process the image and video material for the purpose of producing videos and reporting. It cannot be ruled out that you can be directly or indirectly identified in the recordings, meaning that this is personal data. The recordings are published for news in direct connection with the TalentCampus and for internal and external reporting and on our website. This processing is necessary in particular to document and popularize the TalentCampus. We may publish this on our intranet, in print media and on our following websites:

3. On what legal basis do we process your data?

Personal data for registration

The legal basis for the processing of your personal data is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest of KWS is to be able to plan and manage events and to be able to offer participants the service of informing them at short notice of the cancellation.

Image and video material

If we process image and video material on the basis of a declaration of consent given by you, this is done on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 a) GDPR.
If we process special categories of personal data within the meaning of Art. 9 para. 1 GDPR, this is done exclusively on the basis of your express consent (Art. 9 para. 2 a) GDPR). We only process the personal data of children and persons under the age of 18 with the consent of their parents or legal guardians.
You can withdraw your consent at any time. Please note, however, that this revocation only has effect for the future, i.e. the legality of the processing of the data already carried out on the basis of your consent up to the time of revocation is not affected by the revocation. The revocation has the effect that published photos are removed and no further photos are posted.

4. Who is the recipient of your data?

Recipients of participants' personal data are KWS employees involved in the organization of the event, as well as press representatives who receive a press release with quotes, first names and age of the quoted participant, private bodies and, in individual cases, service providers who support us in organizing the event. These service providers may only act in accordance with the instructions of KWS and are contractually obliged to maintain a high level of data protection and to comply with the applicable data protection requirements.
Insofar as this is legally permissible and necessary to comply with applicable law or to assert, exercise or defend legal claims, we will pass on your personal data to courts, authorities or law firms.
Image and video material
The publication of image and video material on the Internet also means that the information is recorded by search engines and made available for public searches for TalentCampus pages.

5. How do we collect your personal data?

As a rule, we receive your personal data from you. We receive image and video material from photographers that we have commissioned to take images and video material at our events.

6. How long do we store our visitors' data?

We delete your personal data after the end of the event.

We delete the image and video material when it is no longer required for the purposes pursued by us and no other legal basis for continued processing, in particular statutory or contractual retention periods, intervene, but no later than 3 years after the event or the next talent event.

7. What rights do you have?

You have certain rights in relation to your personal data within the scope of the respective legal requirements. Please note that certain exceptions apply to the exercise of these rights and you may therefore not be able to exercise them in all cases.

  • Information: You have the right to obtain information about all data stored by KWS about you.
  • Correction: You can request that we change incorrect personal data.
  • Erasure: You can ask us to erase personal data in certain circumstances and we will take reasonable steps to inform other controllers processing the data that you have requested the erasure of any links to, copies or replications of your data.
  • Withdrawal of consent: You may withdraw your consent to data processing that you have given us and prevent further processing if there is no other reason for KWS to process your personal data.
  • Restriction: In certain cases, you can request that we restrict the processing of your data.
  • Portability: If you have provided us with data on the basis of a contract or consent, you can request that you receive the data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format or that we transmit it to another responsible person.
