Turn knowledge into impact
Social Engagement
Creating social impact through knowledge, resources, and inspiration.
At KWS, social engagement is an expression of our commitment to society. We focus our efforts where our expertise, resources, and network can make a lasting contribution to addressing societal challenges.
Our activities focus on three key areas: Life Science, Citizenship, and Capacity Development. Together with our partners, we promote education and science, strengthen social cohesion, and support individuals in realizing their potential. In doing so, we create opportunities for people and communities and contribute to positive social development.
Our aim is to shape our social engagement with a long-term, impact-oriented approach. KWS has therefore set itself the goal of allocating 1% of its operating income each year to social projects and initiatives. This provides a reliable framework for the continued support of social engagement.

Seeding the future – for us, this goes beyond developing our seed. For KWS as part of society, this principle also means strengthening the regions around our locations. We are actively involved in partnerships with institutions and other companies in the life science region around Einbeck.
Regional engagement
Our regional social engagement focuses on enhancing the quality of life and attractiveness of the communities surrounding our KWS locations, with a particular emphasis on our headquarters in Einbeck. Within the framework of our focus areas Life Science, Citizenship, and Capacity Development, we support projects in the fields of social work, culture, as well as science and education. This includes initiatives such as support for kindergartens, youth programs run by local associations, and cultural projects, as well as the promotion of school gardens and other long-term educational programs with a focus on natural and agricultural sciences, and nutrition.
In addition, we maintain the dialogue with various stakeholder groups and work together with local partners on regional projects and long-term collaborations.
Apply for funding
Would you like to apply for funding for your project or request in-kind donations for your initiative? Our online application form allows you to submit your request to KWS quickly and easily. Please note that we only support projects that align with the focus areas outlined above.
