Above the KWS Wiebrechtshausen monastery estate is a forest, a field full of stones and much more. A perfect place for an exciting land art and nature project as a holiday activity for children and young people, who were taught how to work with materials from nature in a playful way.
Once they arrived at the KWS Klostergut Wiebrechtshausen, the participating children aged eight to eleven created an edible work of art as part of their lunch planned for later. The ingredients were edible flowers and wild herbs, some of which were unknown to the children, which had previously been collected and provided by the organisation team. After some initial scepticism about these unusual ingredients and a little bit of courage, the children got to grips with the flavours together and developed creative ideas for the lunchtime snack.
The group then set off on foot to Retoberg to collect material for creating their own small works of art. There were already signs to the right and left of the route. Motivated, the participants set off from a centrally located camp site into the woodland and the edge of the forest with flower strips, where they were able to find all kinds of ingredients for the creative realisation of their future works. A subsequent joint appraisal of all the works and the lunch snack prepared in the morning with freshly dug potatoes and other delicacies rounded off the holiday pass campaign.
