Dr. Weisensee is inquiring directly with local companies in Einbeck about their interests and needs, which is why he visited KWS this week. The candidate for the mayoral election in Einbeck, who is supported by the FDP, Bündnis 90/Die Grünen, GfE and Bürgerliste, took a look at the company's extensive investments over the past ten years as part of an accompanied tour. The tour included the new research building Biotechnikum 2 (BIT 2 for short) and the new machine centre, both of which were only put into operation this year. The new machine house has a new, state-of-the-art facility for dressing and packaging sugar beet seed. "The vigour with which KWS has pursued the expansion of the Einbeck site is remarkable. The large number of highly qualified jobs in research, production and administration are not only highly relevant for the strategic orientation and development of the company, I also see them as a blessing for the town," says Dr. Claudius Weisensee. KWS emphasises that the employees also had a major influence on the implementation: Where there are no market solutions, our employees develop their own solutions. The main reason why KWS is investing heavily in Einbeck is its employees. Now it is important for him to bind KWS employees to the location. Einbeck offers very good conditions for young families in particular, with a comprehensive school system and a wide range of sports and cultural activities. Dr. Weisensee discussed KWS' commitment to activities in the city centre with Stephan Krings, Head of Global Marketing and Communications at the KWS Group. This includes, for example, supporting various cultural institutions, maintaining the KWS Art Lounge and promoting PS.Speicher, as well as the extensive support of Einbeck Marketing GmbH. "I want to remain in close contact with companies and thus help to implement or accelerate good ideas for the development of our town," explained Dr Claudius Weisensee.
About KWS*
KWS is one of the world's leading plant breeding companies. More than 5,500 employees in 70 countries generated net sales of EUR1.1 billion in fiscal 2018/2019 and earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) of EUR150 million. KWS has been managed independently and autonomously as a family-run company for more than 160 years.
