In a former car workshop of the PS.SPEICHER, a modern learning environment has been created on around 150 square meters. It invites experimentation and hands-on activities: 3D printers, programming boards, and microscopes are part of the basic equipment. Depending on interests, the offering is supplemented, for example, by soldering stations and laser cutters from the PS.Lernwerkstatt, as well as robots from the Robotikfreunde Göttingen. In addition, there are mobile experiment kits that can be brought directly to schools and full-day care programs.
The impulse to establish the MINTmachRaum arose from the observation that so far, hardly any regional schools had been represented at the state finals of the Jugend forscht competition at PS.SPEICHER. As a result, IGS Einbeck, the AKB Stiftung, PS.SPEICHER, the City Marketing, and KWS joined forces, developed a concept, and founded the non-profit association MINTmachRaum Einbeck e. V.
Currently, ten members are volunteering. The team is complemented by four educational professionals. In addition, EU funding secures the project for at least three years and gives the association the chance to establish the MINTmachRaum in Einbeck in the long term.
The following offers are planned:
- Morning: School classes from the third grade onwards
- Afternoon: Free times for children and teenagers
- Weekend: Family activities and children's birthday parties
