Since the beginning of November, there has been a special place in Einbeck where children and teenagers can engage with scientific topics in a playful way. Outside of the regular school routine, the MINTmachRaum offers numerous opportunities to freely and practically explore mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and technology (STEM) – whether as a school class, a group, or an individual.

The construction site has been hard to miss for months on Grimsehlstraße in Einbeck, and the deep excavation is also clearly visible from Altendorfer Straße: on one of the last remaining plots of the company at the location, the new 4,600-square-meter Phytopathology Center of KWS is rising – right next to the Leo greenhouse complex. From mid-2027, the scientific staff in the two-story building are expected to focus on plant health and find solutions against plant diseases and pests. KWS is investing around 25 million euros in the new building.

Class 5d of the Rainald-von-Dassel School explored the current art exhibition “Dance of Colors” in the KWS Art Lounge on September 24. Inspired by the impressive works of art, the pupils then took to paper and paint themselves. As a special highlight, a short workshop was part of the school curriculum today.

We want to share this fascination of plants and make it visible! To this end, the European Plant Science Organisation (EPSO) initiated the international "Fascination of Plants Day" for the 7th time. Plant scientists around the world are organising various events under this motto to get as many people as possible excited about plants and thus draw their attention to the importance of plant science for agriculture and the sustainable production of food. Scientists at KWS live their fascination for plants every day. This fascination enables them to understand and optimise plants a little better every day. Through varieties with relevant characteristics such as improved drought tolerance and reduced need for pesticides, we create solutions and support agriculture in successfully facing the challenges of the coming years. This year, we shared this enthusiasm with children and young people in particular at various events at the Einbeck site. Young people with a "fascination for plants" are the scientists of tomorrow!

On 6 May 2023, the annual Einbeck Beer City Run entered its 19th edition with 1,200 runners and numerous supporters. From a Bambini run around the Marktkirche church to a total of five different routes of varying lengths, there was something for everyone. For the first time, KWS acted as sponsor and namesake of the 24.9-kilometre "KWS Hubelauf".
